This Week

This was my first week at college and also the first week of comms&culture A level, what we've gone through this week was mostly to do with communication and how it works.

The definition of communication is 'Exchanging information' it has to have a sender, a message and a receiver so for example a text message to a friend would have yourself as a sender, the text will be the message and your friend would be the receiver. It sounds quite obvious however it's not always that straightforward, there are also different forms of the message such as verbal, pictorial, text and many more. A text message would be in the form of writing.

Form means a lot in communication, if you, say, had a phone call and then changed your form from verbal to sign language, it wouldn't make sense because 1. the receiver wouldn't hear sign language over the phone 2. the receiver wouldn't see you because it's over the phone so form matters.
